For immediate relaxation, deeper sleep and energy rebalancing.
Shiatsu is a form of therapeutic Japanese bodywork based on the ideas of traditional Chinese medicine. A session is practiced on the ground on a futon, over comfortable clothing. It is performed through pressure (thumbs, elbows, knees and feet), mobilizations and stretching. According to the principles of Chinese medicine, any discomfort, whether physical, emotional or mental, indicates an energy imbalance in the body. Shiatsu maneuvers encourage the unblocking of the body’s energy network (meridians) and, with this release, promote better circulation of vital energy and a return to well-being. The session has a relaxing effect, but also can target several health problems to guide the body toward healing.
Shiatsu results in benefits such as: immediate relaxation, deeper and more restful sleep, increased vitality, pain relief and improved functioning of various body systems. Customized according to each person and their needs, the treatment is never the same from one person to another, or from one session to another. Manipulations are adjusted according to each person’s needs and sensitivities, in a compassionate and caring and manner.
Shiatsu may be appreciated in a single session, but a therapeutic follow-up of 6 sessions is preferable to initiate lasting change for oneself and one’s ailments.
